Meet Tshepiso Mashego, Our very first employee
Transcript [ENGLISH]:
“ I am Tshepiso Mashego, I grew up in difficult circumstances and was raised by a single mom. At home, we are four; with three females and one male sibling. I grew up struggling as my mom did not work and had nothing but were reliant on SASSA money.
My childhood was very difficult and I wished like… at school I worked hard to at least try and be something in life but unfortunately I did not further my studies. Working here has brought hope in my life as I know that I will be able to assist my family with what they need, to raise her children. I had a child at 22, one girl. Which was a mistake but I have accepted now.
I am very happy to be working for the foundation cause I know what it is like to grow up struggling. I also grew up without sanitary pads and would sometimes have to use tissue or a cloth as a substitute. So I know that there are young girls whose parents cannot afford to purchase pads for them. I am really really excited to be working for the foundation and I hope that one day all the children struggling will get the help that they need. Thank you.’’
